This site is run by Bizz Media in Trinidad and Tobago. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no shop here, so we never ask for your name, email address or payment details.
No cookies unless you say yes
When you first visit, a notice at the bottom of the screen asks whether we may use Google Analytics cookies. Until you tap Accept, Google Analytics is not loaded and no tracking cookie is set.
If you tap Accept
Google Analytics helps us understand how the site is used. It records:
- the pages and stories you view and how long you stay
- how you arrived, for example from a Facebook post, a WhatsApp link or a Google search
- your rough location, at the level of country and city
- the type of device and browser you use
- the words you type into the search box
- taps on links that lead to other websites, such as the share buttons
We use this to see which stories and shows people read and watch. It sets two cookies,
_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to 13 months. We have switched
off Google signals and ad personalisation, so this information is not used to show you Google ads.
If you tap No thanks
Nothing is loaded and no tracking cookie is set. The site works exactly the same.
The cookie that remembers your answer
Either way we set one small cookie, cookie_consent, so we do not ask again on every page.
It holds only your answer and expires after six months, when we ask again.
Changing your mind
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. If you switch from yes to no, we delete the Google Analytics cookies and reload the page without them. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no and do not show the notice.
Your theme
If you pick a colour theme with the palette button, your browser keeps that choice on your device,
under the name bm_theme, so the site looks the same next time. It is a local setting, not a
cookie. It never leaves your device and is not used to track you.
What loads from elsewhere
A few parts of the site come from other addresses on every visit, whether or not you tap Accept:
- The Bizz TV live stream comes from our own streaming server, stream.bizzmedia.biz, delivered through Cloudflare, and the stories, pictures, weather and market prices from data.bizzmedia.biz. Both servers are run by Bizz Media.
- The video player on the home page comes from cdnjs.cloudflare.com and the icons from cdn.jsdelivr.net, two public libraries of website code. To send the files they receive your internet address and browser type, as any website does. They set no cookies.
Our typefaces are stored on bizzmedia.biz itself. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, the share buttons and each story's original source are plain links: nothing loads from those sites unless you tap one, and then their own privacy policies apply.
What happens on every visit
Like every website, our hosting company keeps standard server logs: the internet address a request came from, the page asked for (including any search words, which appear in the page address), the time and the browser type. These are kept for security and to keep the site running, and are not used to identify you.
Beyond this website
This page covers bizzmedia.biz only. It does not cover the Bizz TV app, our cable channels, or messages you send us on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube.
